Uncertainty clouds Nigerian-born midfielder's future at Arsenal

With only ten days left before the closure of the summer transfer window in England, the status of Nigerian-born midfielder Tim Akinola's future at Premier League side Arsenal remains uncertain.
Akinola, part of Arsenal's youth prospects, is being considered for a potential sale or loan before the approaching deadline.
Notably, he was excluded from the development squad's training camp in Spain and hasn't featured for either the academy or first team in the new season.
The potential move of Akinola to Neftchi Baku, a European club, has fallen through, leaving his situation at the Emirates Stadium unresolved.
Despite a prior club agreement between Neftchi Baku and Arsenal, complications arose during the negotiation of personal terms, leading to the cancellation of the transfer.
Given that he isn't eligible as an U21 player on Arsenal's Premier League roster and lacks the age qualification for Premier League 2, his playing opportunities are limited unless named as an over-age player.
Having joined Arsenal from Huddersfield Town in 2020, Akinola is now in the final year of his contract with the club.
He previously spent a loan spell at Dundee United during the second half of the 2021-2022 season, followed by a full season with Chesterfield.
Arsenal is also actively seeking to transfer Nigerian goalkeepers Arthur Okonkwo and Ovie Ejeheri, fullback Ryan Alebiosu, midfielder Miguel Azeez, and striker Nathan Butler-Oyedeji.
