Six Nigerian cricket players are gearing up to participate in the Waterfalls T20 Elite League in Uganda, as confirmed by Emeka Igwilo, the General Manager of the Nigeria Cricket Federation.
This exciting development will see three male players, including Isaac Okpe, Chiemelie Udekwe, and Isaac Danladi, along with three female players, namely Sarah Etim, Piety Lucky, and Favour Eseigbe, taking part in the second edition of the Ugandan elite league scheduled from February 1 to 11.
Emeka Igwilo emphasized that their involvement is part of a broader high-performance program designed to prepare the players for upcoming events, such as the African Games and the NCF Women’s Invitational in February.
This strategic move aims to enhance the team's skills and readiness for the challenges ahead.
Cricket will mark its debut at the African Games in Ghana in March, and Nigeria is set to participate in both male and female events based on their T20 ranking.
This presents a significant opportunity for the Nigerian cricket community to showcase their talent on a broader African stage, fostering growth and development within the sport.
