Troubled Bayelsa Utd FC welcome second-placed Lobi Stars of Markurdi
Posted : 04 November 2023
Lobi Stars of Markurdi have been nothing short of spectacular in the ongoing 2023/2024 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL), despite having to play their home matches away from home at the neighboring Lafia City Stadium in Nasarawa since the Aper Aku Stadium Markurdi failed to meet the required standards for league matches.
Despite playing their home matches away from home, Lobi Stars FC of Markurdi has yet to lose a single match at their adopted home in faraway Lafia, maintaining a 100 percent home record and securing two away draws in the Match Day 1 fixtures against Heartland FC and a goalless draw against Katsina United at Umar Dikko Stadium in Katsina.
In the current 2023/2024 NPFL season, Lobi Stars FC comfortably holds second place, just one point behind Remo Stars FC, who currently occupies the top spot with 12 points.
However, Bayelsa United FC continues its downward trend that has spanned nearly two seasons. The Yenagoa-based Bayelsa United has yet to establish the Samson Siasia Stadium in Yenagoa as a fortress. This situation has seen some clubs taking away points from them, especially the league leaders Remo Stars, who secured a 2-3 victory over them in Match Day 3.
Head to Head:
In the last five matches, Bayelsa United FC and Lobi Stars FC have each won two games, while one game ended in a draw.
Prediction:
Lobi Stars to win or draw.
