The 2024 CAF Women's Champions League WAFU-B qualifiers' winners, Edo Queens FC, are now back in the ancient city of Benin with plans to hold a trophy parade in Benin City to celebrate their victory.
The club management announced that the victorious ladies and their enthusiastic supporters will have a road show where they will tour the ancient city of Benin to show their appreciation to the people for their support.
Additionally, they will be hosted at a historic reception by the Governor of Edo State, Godwin Obaseki, his wife, Betsy Obaseki, members of the State Executive, and the sports-loving people of Edo State.
The Moses Aduku-led side participated in the CAF Women's Champions League WAFU-B play-off in Côte d'Ivoire, alongside six other West African club sides.
At the end of the WAFU-B showpiece, Edo Queens triumphed over the six other club sides from the zone and emerged as champions.
As champions of the WAFU-B play-off, Edo Queens will now represent the zone in the final stage of the CAF Women's Champions League proper, scheduled for November 2024, in a yet-to-be-determined country.
