Posted : 07 July 2023
The summer transfer window is in full swing in Europe, and the latest buzz is filled with exciting transfer news. Here's the latest gossip, rumors, and done deals in the world of football.
According to the Telegraph, Manchester United is preparing a bid for Atalanta striker Rasmus Hojlund. The 20-year-old Danish talent has become a priority for the Red Devils and is their preferred choice over Eintracht Frankfurt's Randal Kolo Muani.
United is operating under financial fair play constraints and is aiming to secure Hojlund for a transfer fee of approximately £50m.
Hojlund had an impressive season in Serie A, scoring nine goals and providing two assists in 32 appearances for Atalanta. He has also made a mark on the international stage, netting six goals in six games for Denmark since his senior debut in September.
However, there might be delays in finalizing the transfer due to the potential takeover situation at Manchester United, adding uncertainty to the process.
Having already secured the signing of Mason Mount from Chelsea for £60m, Manchester United is now focused on completing deals for the remaining key positions targeted by manager Erik ten Hag.
A goalkeeper and a striker are the main areas of interest. To fund these acquisitions, United is considering offloading players such as Harry Maguire, Jadon Sancho, Fred, Scott McTominay, Anthony Martial, Alex Telles, Anthony Elanga, and Eric Bailly.
As the transfer window progresses, Manchester United is determined to make the necessary moves to strengthen their squad for the upcoming season.
