Transfer Talk for July 11: Chelsea considers Vlahovic, Dybala
Posted : 11 July 2023
Mauricio Pochettino, the new head coach of Chelsea, has held discussions with the club's board regarding the reinforcement of their forward line. The names of Serie A players Dusan Vlahovic and Paulo Dybala have emerged as potential targets.
Pochettino, who started his role at the beginning of the month, is evaluating the squad and has identified Vlahovic from Juventus and Dybala from Roma as players of interest.
According to reports, Chelsea's new approach focuses on building a squad around promising young talent. However, the recruitment team acknowledges Pochettino's view that a certain level of experience is needed to maintain a balanced team.
The Argentine coach believes that the attacking department may require some added experience as he continues to assess the squad's composition.
The potential signings could be influenced by the future plans for Romelu Lukaku, whose situation is expected to be resolved in the coming week. Inter Milan is eager to secure Lukaku on a permanent deal, but Juventus has also expressed interest.
This development could facilitate discussions regarding Vlahovic. Dybala, Pochettino's fellow countryman, has also been mentioned as an option. Notably, a contract clause could make Dybala available for a mere £10 million, making him an attractive prospect.
