Tottenham set to bid for Nigerian talent as Harry Kane's replacement
Posted : 13 August 2023
Tottenham Hotspur is said to have initiated discussions with Nigerian talent Gift Orban's representatives regarding a potential transfer to White Hart Lane this summer.
Following star striker Harry Kane's £100m move to Bayern Munich, Tottenham is actively seeking replacements, with Nottingham Forest's Brennan Johnson initially targeted as their top choice.
However, resistance from Forest's manager Steve Cooper has prompted Tottenham to consider Orban as an alternative option.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has confirmed Tottenham's concrete interest in the Gent striker, and while negotiations have begun with Orban's representatives, offers are expected to be made for the 21-year-old player, who holds a valuation of £30m by Gent.
Orban has already shown his prowess this season with five goals for Gent, including a remarkable hat trick in their recent 5-0 victory over Pogon Szczecin in the Europa Conference League qualifiers.
