Tottenham Hotspur manager, Ange Postecoglou, has decided to include Damola Ajayi, a 17-year-old forward of Nigerian descent born in London, in the first team's training sessions.
Postecoglou is currently assessing Ajayi's skills and performance to determine whether he should be included in the squad for the team's upcoming pre-season matches in Australia and Asia.
Ajayi, who joined Tottenham Hotspur from Bromley FC, is currently in the second year of his scholarship with the club.
His versatility as a striker, attacking midfielder, and winger has earned him high regard from the coaching staff at Tottenham Hotspur.
This is evident from his involvement as the 21st player in a Premier League match against Leeds United at Elland Road two months ago, as well as his competitive debut for the U18s in his final season as a schoolboy.
During the team's pre-season preparations at Hotspur Way, Ajayi has the opportunity to train alongside established Tottenham Hotspur stars such as Harry Kane, Emerson Royal from Brazil, and James Maddison, a recent signing from Leicester City.
In the previous season, Ajayi made his debuts in various competitions, including the UEFA Youth League, Premier League 2, Papa Johns Trophy, and FA Youth Cup.
With friendly matches lined up against West Ham United, Leicester City, Lion City Sailors, Shakhtar Donetsk, and Barcelona, Tottenham Hotspur is using these preparations to gear up for the upcoming season.
