Tottenham prioritize Chelsea target as Harry Kane's replacement
Posted : 22 August 2023
Tottenham Hotspur's focus is on securing the signing of Nottingham Forest striker Brennan Johnson instead of Genk forward Gift Orban, as they search for a successor to Harry Kane who moved to Bayern Munich.
Reports suggest that Tottenham is set to make an offer for Johnson, who prefers joining them over Chelsea due to the prospect of more playing time.
Manager Ange Postecoglou plans to trim the squad before pursuing a bid for Johnson as the summer transfer window comes to a close.
In addition to Johnson and Orban, Tottenham is also considering experienced Porto player Mehdi Taremi and Lille's Jonathan David as potential striking options.
While discussions have taken place with Orban's representatives, the deal is not in advanced stages, with no official bid made by Tottenham and personal terms not yet addressed.
Meanwhile, Fulham is also contemplating a move for Orban, who remains under contract with Gent until June 2027.
