Tottenham join EPL race for Super Eagles star

Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly set their sights on Nigerian forward Ademola Lookman as they look to strengthen their attacking options. The North London club is keen on bringing the Super Eagles star back to the Premier League, where he previously played for Everton, Leicester City, and Fulham before making a name for himself in Italy with Atalanta.  


However, Tottenham face stiff competition in their pursuit of Lookman, as Arsenal and Liverpool are also said to be monitoring his situation. According to reports, the London club is willing to challenge these Premier League giants in a bid to secure the talented winger’s services.  


Lookman has been a key player for Atalanta, playing a pivotal role in their recent success. His impressive performances have made him a sought-after target in the transfer market. Despite his contributions, tensions have reportedly surfaced between the player and his manager, Gian Piero Gasperini, further fueling speculation about a possible exit.  


Tottenham see an opportunity to capitalize on this uncertainty surrounding Lookman’s future at the Gewiss Stadium. His experience in English football, coupled with his growth in Italy, makes him an attractive option for a club looking to add quality to their attack.  


The 2024 CAF Player of the Year has enjoyed an outstanding season, registering 17 goals and seven assists in 30 appearances for Atalanta. His standout performance in the Europa League final, where he scored a stunning hat-trick to secure Atalanta’s first-ever European trophy, has further increased his market value.  


Lookman’s contract with Atalanta is set to expire in 2026, but with just over a year left, the club may consider selling him in the summer transfer window. Given his current form and growing reputation, any potential move is expected to come with a significant price tag.  


As the summer window approaches, Tottenham will need to act swiftly if they are to beat their rivals to Lookman’s signature. With several clubs interested, the Super Eagles star’s future remains a major talking point ahead of the new season.
