The hero of the Israeli national team has a new home: The midfielder signed a five-year deal with the Roosters after passing medical exams, during which time he will make almost £2.5 million annually.
Manor Solomon has officially joined Tottenham as of Tuesday after a period of uncertainty. The star of the Israeli national team signed a contract for five years with an estimated salary of £2.5 million annually.
The premier player for the Israeli national team passed medical testing with the Roosters successfully yesterday, and today, according the team's official release, he signed the deal. Tottenham monitored the Israeli winger, who turns 24 this month, and tracked developments in his case last season, as reported in February by Yedioth Ahronoth and Ynet. Tottenham has finally finalised the transfer.
Solomon's Shakhtar Donetsk contract, which is only set to expire in December 2023, is now in effect. But a month ago, FIFA declared that the rule that permitted players in the Russian and Ukrainian leagues to switch teams without the club's permission will also be in effect for the 2023–24 campaign.
Solomon, a free agent, agreed to Tottenham's terms and will host Shakhtar in a showpiece match on August 6. All proceeds will go to the Ukrainian champions' charitable foundation, which helps victims of war. Solomon expressed gratitude to the club, teammates, and fans, and wishes Shakhtar and Ukraine the best.
Manor Solomon, a Maccabi Petah Tikva youth player, made his Premier League debut in 2016. He was bought by Shakhtar Donetsk for €6 million and made his Champions League debut in October.
In 2022, Solomon signed for Fulham due to FIFA's Ukrainian league leave policy. After being injured, he scored five consecutive goals and was nominated for Premier League Player of the Month award.
Solomon joins Tottenham Hotspur after a disappointing season, finishing eighth and missing European competitions. Manager Antonio Conte criticizes the club and players, stating they don't want to play under pressure.
