Tottenham Hotspur discussing new deal with promising Nigerian forward
Posted : 08 November 2023
Tottenham Hotspur, an English Premier League club, aims to secure a significant contract for the talented Nigerian forward, Damola Ajayi, before the current season concludes.
As of January 2024, Ajayi will have only six months left on his contract with the club, and his performance has justified the pursuit of a new deal.
If negotiations prove successful, the London-born winger will sign his first professional contract with Tottenham Hotspur. Ajayi, a second-year scholar, is highly regarded by the club's management.
Under the supervision of manager Ange Postecoglou, Ajayi was promoted to first-team training, a move that took place before Tottenham Hotspur's pre-season matches in Australia and Asia for the 2023-2024 campaign.
During the previous season, Ajayi traveled with the first team as the 21st player for a Premier League match against Leeds United at Elland Road and made his competitive debut for the U18s in his last schoolboy season.
The 17-year-old has displayed his prowess by scoring four goals for Tottenham's youth teams this season, including a dramatic injury-time winner against Chelsea in the U18 Premier League.
