Tottenham Hotspur have exercised their option to extend Son Heung-min's contract by an additional year, keeping him at the club until the summer of 2026. The 32-year-old forward, who joined Spurs from Bayer Leverkusen in 2015, has made a significant impact with 169 goals in 431 appearances across all competitions.
He has been a key player for the club, contributing 125 goals and 68 assists in 320 Premier League matches.
Son has played an integral role in Tottenham's history, including helping the team reach their first-ever Champions League final in 2019. Last season, he was crucial in securing a fifth-place finish for the club in the Premier League.
Despite the team's struggles this season, currently sitting 12th in the league, Son has continued to deliver strong performances, with five goals and six assists in 17 top-flight appearances.
The contract extension announcement came just ahead of Tottenham's Carabao Cup semi-final first-leg match against Liverpool on Wednesday.
This move ensures that the South Korean international will remain a key figure for Spurs as they look to build for the future while navigating a challenging current campaign.
