In order to allay any remaining concerns about Premier League relegation, Toti scored his first goal for Wolves as Julen Lopetegui's team defeated Aston Villa at Molineux.
The tough win pushes Lopetegui's club to 40 points, 10 points ahead of Nottingham Forest in 18th position with four games remaining.
With a soaring header that went under the crossbar and beyond Villa goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez, Portuguese center-back Toti gave Wolves the lead inside of 10 minutes.
Emiliano Buendia and Ollie Watkins, who played for the visitors, almost brought the score level in the first half. However, early in the second half, Ashley Young sent a low, curling effort past Jose Sa's right-hand post.
As Villa mounted intense pressure late on, Tyrone Mings blasted a Douglas Luiz pass over the crossbar, but the hosts held firm to secure a fourth straight home league
victory and a fourth straight clean sheet in front of their own supporters.
Although Brighton is one point ahead of Villa in seventh place and will visit Everton on Monday, the Seagulls have played three more games than Villa.
