Tom Brady plans to invest in Birmingham's 45% shares fund

Posted : 04 August 2023
The NFL legend, widely regarded as the greatest quarterback in history, is making a significant investment in English football. Tom Brady, known for his remarkable achievements in American sports, has decided to invest in a fund that acquired 45 percent of Birmingham's shares from the Championship last July. As part of this partnership, Brady will also serve as the chairman of the advisory board.

Brady, aged 46, is a partner in a company that owns a portion of the Birmingham City franchise. His role as chairman of the advisory board will allow him to utilize his vast experience and leadership, including offering guidance on health, nutrition, and recovery systems and programs in collaboration with the Department of Sports Science.

Expressing his excitement about the decision, Brady stated, "Birmingham is an iconic club with a rich history and passion. Being part of the blues is a true honor for me. The team's dedication to teamwork and determination is inspiring, and I'm eager to work alongside the board, management, and players. Having been part of some incredible teams in my career, I'm looking forward to contributing my perspective to create success here in Birmingham."

Birmingham City chairman, Tom Wagner, welcomed Brady's involvement and stated, "Tom Brady joining Birmingham City is a statement of intent. We are committed to setting a world-class standard, and Tom's investment and expertise will greatly support our goals."

Beyond Birmingham City, Brady is also involved in investments with other sports teams. He became one of the owners of the NFL's Las Vegas Raiders last May and had previously become a shareholder in the WNBA champion Las Vegas Aces.

Brady's accomplishments in American sports are unparalleled, making him an icon in the history of the game. He holds the record for the most Super Bowl wins, with an impressive seven titles to his name.

Six of those victories came during his time with the New England Patriots, where he played from 2000 to 2020, before securing another title with Tampa Bay in 2021. Despite his team's loss to the Los Angeles Rams in the playoffs this year, Brady continues to demonstrate his commitment to the sport and is an inspiration to many.

From a humble beginning as the 199th pick in the NFL draft and the third quarterback at Michigan, Brady's journey is nothing short of a Cinderella story. He defied all odds to lead a team that was not favored to six championships and brought success to another team that lacked history until his arrival, securing a championship in his first season there. With a career spanning two decades in a league where the average player's survival is less than four years, Brady's legacy is truly remarkable.
