Todd Boehly spoke to Mason Mount directly to convince to stay

To fend off Mason Mount's numerous suitors and retain him at Chelsea, Todd Boehly allegedly communicated with the playmaker directly.

The England international's current deal expires in just over a year, and he has not yet signed a new one at Stamford Bridge. There must be some major decisions made about his future this summer because Chelsea cannot afford to risk losing him on a free transfer.

In the next transfer window, Mount has been linked with transfers to Liverpool, Arsenal, and Manchester United, with these Premier League powerhouses seeing an opportunity to wrest a proven player away from domestic rivals.

With Thomas Tuchel now in charge of the Bundesliga's heavyweights, Bayern Munich, there have also been rumors of approaches. However, those at Stamford Bridge are making every effort to make sure that a homegrown star remains there.

According to The Athletic, Blues co-owner Boehly is actively working to retain Mount in west London and has taken matters into his own hands. The 24-year-old, who has been with the club since he was six years old, has reportedly rejected all contract offers up to this point, but Chelsea is believed to have been offered optimism that he may yet be persuaded to sign a new term.
