The Chairman of Kwara United Football Club, Mr. Kumbi Titiloye, has expressed satisfaction with the club's performance during the first stanza of the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL), despite its average results.
The Harmony Boys concluded the first stanza of the 2024/2025 NPFL season with 23 points after their final match, placing 12th on the table. They recorded six wins, five draws, and seven losses, with one game still in hand.
Kunmi commended the team, which consists primarily of young players, many of whom are making their league debut.
Speaking at the Kwara State Stadium Complex in Ilorin during the presentation of the Abdul Momoh Ambassadorial Award of Recognition by Abdul Momoh Photography, Kumbi emphasized the importance of improving in the second round.
"We need to score more goals in the second round to challenge the contenders, and we are working towards achieving that," Kumbi remarked.
He added, "We are not relenting in achieving our set targets for the season. With 20 league games remaining, including outstanding fixtures, we are confident of meeting our goals."
As a North Central representative on the NPFL board, Kumbi expressed heartfelt gratitude to Abdul Momoh for the recognition.
He pledged to continue contributing to grassroots football development and acknowledged the critical support from various stakeholders, including Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, the Kwara Sports Commission led by Mallam Bola Magaji, the Football Association, security agencies, media, medical teams, and others.
Kumbi urged all stakeholders to sustain their support for Kwara United as the team prepares for the challenges ahead in the second round of the league.
