On Wednesday, three individuals were apprehended in Argentina for threatening Ángel Di María and his family, as confirmed by Minister of Security Patricia Bullrich.
One of the suspects, already under investigation for drug trafficking, confessed to being involved with two accomplices in making the threats against Di María's family.
The incident occurred when Di María expressed his desire to conclude his professional career at Rosario Central, his hometown team, prompting a shooting at his family home on Monday, accompanied by a written warning.
Di María, currently contracted with Benfica until June, expressed concern for his family's safety, stating, "I have my family, and what was happening affects me."
Posting on Instagram Stories, the footballer called for peace, sharing an image of the Rosario flag.
Rosario Central denounced the attack, emphasizing the importance of protecting footballers and their families from such threats.
Rosario faces significant security challenges, with a high homicide rate compared to other cities, prompting government initiatives like "Plan Flag" to combat crime and ensure safety for residents.
Minister Bullrich announced the arrests on social media, reaffirming the government's commitment to tackling criminal activities and ensuring the safety of all citizens.
