Chuba Akpom has acknowledged that he's been approached by several clubs about the possibility of departing Ajax Amsterdam during the summer transfer window.
The Nigerian striker arrived at Ajax with a strong track record, having played a crucial role in Middlesborough's journey to the Championship playoffs in the 2022/2023 season.
His exceptional performance, scoring 28 goals in the English second-tier division, earned him recognition, including the PFA Championship Player's Player of the Year and the EFL Championship Player of the Season awards.
However, Akpom has struggled to replicate his success at Ajax, leading to speculation about a potential return to England, with Nottingham Forest and Crystal Palace reportedly interested in securing his services.
In an interview with Telegraaf, Akpom admitted that numerous clubs have expressed interest in signing him, considering his limited playing time and goal-scoring record.
"I've received a lot of interest. It's understandable given my playing time and goal-scoring record. At 28, I feel I'm in peak physical and mental condition," Akpom stated.
"My ambition is always to play at the highest level and for the best possible team. While there's interest from Premier League clubs, I've also been in contact with clubs from Germany and France."
"However, I'm under contract with Ajax, and there's a possibility that a new manager may value me. We'll see what happens in the summer," he added.
Despite facing stiff competition for a starting position, Akpom managed to reach double figures for goal contributions for the second consecutive season, highlighting his potential value to potential suitors.
