Eugene Agagbe of Lobi Stars has declared that the race for the 2023/2024 NPFL season is still open for any team to emerge winners, adding that the title is still within reach for his club.
Recall that Lobi Stars were held to a 1-1 draw with Bayelsa United in a match day 27 NPFL encounter in Lafia, which paved the way for Rangers to leapfrog the Pride of Benue at the top of the table.
He noted that the draw has motivated him to work harder, saying that Lobi Stars have not relinquished the league to any team.
"I will not say that I am disappointed with the result because it is part of the game. We also defeated them in their home ground, and they also came here to take something, and they were lucky to get it.
"It's just unfortunate that the players lost focus. I don't like to blame players because they are the same players who will still play for us tomorrow.
"We will go back to the drawing board and correct the mistakes they made today so that they will have a better performance in their next away game.
"The league is still open. We still have about eleven games to go. As I said earlier, we will do our best and finish among the top three. All we are aiming for is to qualify for continental competitions, and if an opportunity arises to lift the trophy, we will seize it.
"I have not given the trophy to anyone yet because the league is still open. We can also win away.
"This draw doesn't bother me because it has given me the opportunity to work harder for the next game."
