The management of Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) side, Lobi Stars, has described the resignation of its former Technical Adviser, Daniel Amokachi, as a move that paves the way for new opportunities.
In a statement through its Media Officer, Ujah Emmanuel, the management confirmed that Amokachi took the proactive step of stepping aside.
“We confirm that Daniel Amokachi made the proactive decision to step aside as Technical Adviser of Lobi Stars Football Club.
“This strategic move was entirely Amokachi's decision, demonstrating his commitment to prioritizing the club's success.
“After our recent home match against Katsina United Football Club, Amokachi sent a thoughtful message to our Chairman, Dr. Philip Nongu, outlining his decision.
Amokachi wrote: "Good evening, sir. I hope this meets you well. After a meeting with my mother and family, I regret to announce my resignation from the position of Technical Adviser of the team.
"I have given my all, but things are not going the way they should. The club is bigger than a brand or a Technical Adviser, and I feel I should step aside before it is too late for the club to fight to stay out of the red zone.
"I want to thank His Excellency, the entire Board members, coaches, backroom staff, players, and fans for their support."
We appreciate Amokachi's dedication to the club and wish him continued success in his future endeavors.
As we move forward, we are excited to announce the appointment of Sam Addingi as caretaker coach, bringing new energy and expertise to the team.
During Amokachi's tenure, the team played 19 matches, with 3 wins, 7 draws, and 9 losses.
We deliberately delayed announcing Amokachi's resignation to avoid unnecessary distractions ahead of our crucial NPFL Match Day 25 fixture against 3SC.
We also extend our appreciation to His Excellency, Governor Hyacinth Alia, for his invaluable support to the team.
As we embark on this new chapter, we remain optimistic about the team's potential for growth and success.
