Super Eagles forward, Taiwo Awoniyi, has achieved the record for the highest shot-conversion rate in the English Premier League since last season, despite netting 16 goals during that period. This accomplishment surpasses Erling Haaland, who has a higher overall tally of 52 goals.
As per a recent report by SkySports, the Nigerian international boasts an impressive 28.6% shot conversion rate, outshining players like Manchester City’s Haaland (26.1%), Hee-Chan Hwang (24.1%), Callum Wilson (24%), Diogo Jota (22.5%), and Ivan Toney (21.4%).
Despite facing injury setbacks that caused him to miss 12 games for Nottingham Forest and excluding him from representing Nigeria at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations despite being named in the provisional squad, Awoniyi has made a successful return to action. In his last five outings for the Reds, he has scored two goals, including opening the scoring in their crucial 2-0 victory against West Ham United, helping them avoid the relegation zone.
As Nottingham Forest prepares to travel to Villa Park for their Matchday 26 Premier League encounter against Unai Emery’s Aston Villa, Awoniyi is eager to maintain his impressive form.
