Super Falcons thrash New Zealand ladies 3-0 in International Friendly

The Nigerian Super Falcons on Tuesday afternoon at the Mardan Stadium, Antelya in Turkey trashed the New Zealand ladies 3-0 in an International friendly encounter.
Ageless Captain Onome Ebi slotted the first goal at 34th minute before going into the locker rooms for a break.
On resumption of the second half the New Zealanders were more eager to score goals but the much agile Nigerian defence and Chiamaka in goal were too much containing the forays.
Three minutes into resumption, Jeniffer sneaked in the second goal for Nigeria and Oparanozie made it three after Ajibade missed a glaring opportunity.
Oparanozie was a mobile locomotive as a minor crash with a New Zealand midfielder in the 65th minute sent her off after being treated on the field of play more than allowed by FIFA regulation.
But then two Nigerian players, Oshoala and a defender dropped on the field apparently from fasting fatigue of the Ramadan period.
There is still much work for the Super Falcons as the team is not stringing well with their passes and the mid field, as well as the attack were not showing synergy.
New Zealand which is to host the next Women’s World Cup, though making her 6th appearance at the Mundial has played 6 games preparatory to the Finals now without a win having only a 1-1 draw with Iceland last April 7.
The team with a good hope showing against Nigeria has conceded 17 goals and scored only one.
Super Falcons had beaten both Costa Rica and Haiti adding New Zealand in five games now; scoring 6 goals and conceding 5.
Nigeria is making her 9th appearance at the female World Cup without going the distance.
