Super Falcons defender signs with Paris Saint-Germain

Paris Saint-Germain, the French Division 1 Féminine club, has officially welcomed Super Falcons defender Nicole Payne to their team, as announced on their official website. 

Hailing from Birmingham, Alabama, USA, Nicole, the younger sister of Toni Payne, a current member of the Super Falcons squad at the Women's World Cup in Melbourne, has signed a three-year contract with PSG, extending until June 30, 2026.

Before joining Paris Saint-Germain, Nicole Payne showcased her talent at Atlanta-based Concorde Fire and later played for West Virginia University, where she made her mark with 4 goals in 53 matches across three years.

Her international journey began by representing her country of birth at youth level, but she ultimately pledged her commitment to Nigeria, one of Africa's football powerhouses, and made her debut for the Nigerian national team in a friendly match against Jamaica in 2021.

In the past year, Payne continued to impress, playing in sixteen matches for the University of Southern California and netting three goals during her time there.

Ecstatic about her transfer to Paris Saint-Germain, Payne expressed her delight to the club's official website, describing the moment as a fulfillment of her lifelong dream.
