As the Super Eagles of Nigeria get set to participate in the African Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Cote D'Ivoire, one of the invited standby midfielders, Kelechi Nwakali, has warned his Super Eagles teammates not to underestimate Equatorial Guinea and Guinea-Bissau.
Nigeria's Super Eagles will open their campaign in the upcoming 2023 African Cup of Nations against Equatorial Guinea on the 14th of January.
The player from Chavez in Portugal made it clear that they must not repeat the mistakes they made during the last edition of the competition.
"We must treat each match as a must-see and avoid the mistakes of the last edition.
"Guinea-Bissau and Equatorial Guinea will not be child's play as they are equally strong, but the Eagles will be ready to regain their crown in Ivory Coast,” he said.
Nwakali, a former youth international, however, believes that the Eagles have all it takes to do well in the biggest football tournament in Africa.
