Nigerian central defender and Super Eagles star, Leon Balogun, is strongly linked to a forthcoming transfer to Scottish Premiership giants, Rangers.
Balogun is poised to make a return to Rangers pending a successful medical examination at the Ibrox club.
This move comes as Rangers look to strengthen their squad after the unfortunate injury sustained by 19-year-old defender, Leon King, which will keep him out of action for a significant period.
The 35-year-old defender is on the verge of reuniting with Rangers for a second spell, having previously represented the club for two seasons.
He initially joined Rangers in the summer of 2020 on a one-year contract and extended his stay at the Ibrox Stadium for the subsequent season, playing a key role in their successful Scottish Premiership campaign.
During his time at Rangers, Balogun played an instrumental role in their journey to the final of the Europa League, although they were ultimately defeated by Jose Mourinho's Roma.
In total, he made 65 appearances for the Light Blues, contributing directly to five goals (scoring two and providing three assists).
Balogun is set to reunite with manager Michael Beale, with whom he previously worked at Queens Park Rangers and during his first stint at Glasgow Rangers.
His recent social media message bidding farewell to everyone associated with Queens Park Rangers further fuels speculation of an impending transfer.
The impending move sees Balogun poised to make a return to Rangers, aiming to contribute to their continued success under the guidance of manager Steven Gerrard.
