Super Eagles move up one position in new FIFA ranking

The Super Eagles of Nigeria has moved up one place in the new ranking as released by the Federation of International Football Association (FIFA).
Africa Sport Network (ASN) reports that the Jose Peseiro-tutored national team just qualified for the African Cup of Nations (AFCON) courtesy a 3-2 away win against Leone Stars of Sierra Leone in Monrovia, Liberia.
The latest win did not count much as the latest FIFA ranking saw them slip out of the African top 5.
Napoli forward, Victor Osimhen, scored twice in Monrovia Liberia and ensured qualification for the biennial competition in Ivory Coast next year.
According to the latest ranking, the Super Eagles of Nigeria were placed 39th in the World, the three-time African Champions moved up one place after her 40th ranking last month and 6th in the continent of Africa.
Morocco maintained its position as the African best and stayed 13th in the World ranking.
The Lions of Teranga is placed in 18th in the World and 2nd in Africa while the Carthage of Tunisia is 31st in the World and 3rd in Africa.
