Danish club Odense Kammeraternes Sportsklub proudly announced the signing of Nigerian international Izunna Uzochukwu on their official Facebook page.
Uzochukwu will join OKS this spring as a player and transition into an assistant coach role starting from the summer of 2024, while still being available as a player.
Despite being out of favour, Uzochukwu has found a new home in the Funen region, as reported by Bold.dk, after being deported by the Danish government in December 2023.
His residence permit was revoked in 2018 when he moved to the Chinese team MZ Hakka, although he has familial ties in Denmark.
After returning to Denmark last month, Uzochukwu participated in a friendly match between B 1909 and Næsby's U19 team while sorting out his residence permit, ultimately securing a new club.
Uzochukwu, a veteran in Danish football, boasts 201 Danish Superliga appearances with FC Midtjylland and Odense BK, alongside stints at Aalesund, FC Honka, and Amkar Perm.
Known for his prowess as a central midfielder, the 33-year-old brings valuable experience, energy, and dedication to his new role at OKS.
