Super Eagles-eligible forward signs with Bayer Leverkusen alongside Victor Boniface

Nigerian-eligible forward Nathan Tella has finalized a move to Bayer Leverkusen in the German Bundesliga from Southampton.

Tella's impactful loan spell at Burnley last season caught attention, with him contributing 17 goals and five assists to their English Championship triumph.

Despite speculation linking him to a Burnley return, Southampton's valuation was unmatched, leading to German club Bayer Leverkusen stepping in with a £20 million offer for the 24-year-old winger.

Tella underwent medical tests on Saturday and has signed a five-year contract with Bayer Leverkusen, making him the second Nigerian in Xabi Alonso's squad, alongside Victor Boniface.

Born in England to Nigerian parents, Tella is eligible to play for the Super Eagles due to not having represented the English national team.
