Chinedu Nwosu, popularly called "Nedu," was born 17 years ago in Akure, the capital of Ondo State, but his parents are from Imo State.
His rise to the elite league began in 2022 with Akure City Football Club, having played competitive secondary school football with Akure Secondary Commercial School, winning laurels.
Chinedu Nwosu played for Akure City FC in the Nationwide League One in 2022.
He was the highest goal scorer for Akure City in their first season in the third tier of the domestic league and therefore attracted the attention of Sunshine Stars, who invited him for trials in 2023.
Luckily, he impressed and got signed last season.
Patiently, he waited for his time and exhibited his prowess to the world.
Kennedy Boboye introduced Chinedu Nwosu in the 73rd minute against Akwa United in a Matchday 35 tie at the Ondo State Sports Complex. He wasted no time, providing an assist less than a minute later as Sunshine Stars scored the first goal in the 74th minute.
Nedu again provided an assist for the second goal two minutes later as Sunshine Stars recorded a convincing 2-0 win over the Promise Keepers.
Tagged as a "super sub," Chinedu Nwosu grabbed the headlines in a South West derby, Sunshine Stars FC vs. Remo Stars. Again, he was introduced in the second half.
Nedu struck in the 58th minute, 40 seconds after his introduction, before sealing the win for Sunshine Stars in the 80th minute.
So far this season, Chinedu Nwosu has featured five times for Sunshine Stars FC, twice as an unused substitute.
As a super sub, he has scored two goals in two matches and recorded two assists.
In his last game against Doma United at the Pantami Stadium in Gombe, he featured for seven minutes and had two shots on target, both efforts saved by Doma United goalkeeper Kingdom.
Nedu is pacy, skillful, energetic, a team player, and fearless.
His favorite food is rice, and his favorite jersey number is 7.
