Sunshine Stars sign Defender Owoade

Sunshine Stars of Akure announced the arrival of young and energetic defender Segun Owoade on a two-year deal on Thursday.


The defender was an integral part of Inter Lagos FC's impressive run that saw them qualify for the NNL Super 8 and narrowly miss out on the NPFL promotion ticket.


He was also instrumental in Inter Lagos' historic run in the President Federation Cup, where they narrowly lost to eventual winners Elkanemi Warriors in the quarterfinals.

 


Segun is distinguished by his style of play and qualities that set him apart from his peers.


As a defender, his penchant for perfection, unwavering diligence, and professionalism, including his ability to win both aerial and ground duels, endear him to many.


He is also admired for his interception skills and his eye for goals.


Segun is fondly remembered for scoring Inter Lagos' second goal in their 2-0 away victory over Crown FC in their NNL game, securing the NNL Super 8 ticket.


Owoade is expected to be part of Coach Kennedy Boboye's project as they enter the new NPFL season.


Owoade said, "I am very happy to join this team, and it's a dream come true for me. I look forward to contributing my own quota to help the team achieve its goals."
