After seeing the Sunshine Stars through a turbulent 2023/2024 season, former Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) winners, Kennedy Boboye has been rewarded with a contract extension with the Akure Gunners.
Recall that Boboye took over from the erstwhile coach Edith Agoye who was sacked after a poor performance in the last season.
Now, news coming from the camp of the Sunshine Stars has it that Kennedy Boboye has extended his contract with the Akure-based club for another NPFL season as head coach.
The Board of the Ondo State Football Agency has also approved the appointment of Bobola Akinfolarin as the first assistant coach, while Gbenga Okunnua was made the second assistant coach.
Until his appointment as first assistant coach of Sunshine Stars, Bobola Akinfolarin was the technical director of Sunshine Queens.
He was also one of the pioneer players of Sunshine Stars FC.
The duo of John Gardi and Kayode Emmanuel also retained their positions as the goalkeeper trainer and physical trainer, respectively.
The executive chairman of the board, Bamidele Ologunloluwa, said that the appointment of the coaches was with immediate effect.
Ologunloluwa charged the new coaching crew to work harmoniously for the good performance of the team.
