2024/2025 NPFL Match Day 20: Sunshine Stars' coach expresses satisfaction over result against Ikorodu City FC

Sunshine Stars secured a thrilling 4-3 victory over Ikorodu City in a highly contested South West derby at the Remo Stars Stadium on Saturday.


Alao Danlami’s brace, along with goals from Liam Ahmadu and Peter Awosanmi, sealed the win for the Akure-based team, while Shola Adelani scored twice, and Emmanuel Solomon added one for Ikorodu City.


Coach Bobola Akinfolarin expressed satisfaction with the result, citing improvements in his team’s goal-scoring ability.


“It is not a bad result because, in the first round, we struggled to score goals despite creating enough chances,” Akinfolarin told Sunshine Stars media.


“As you can see, we scored four goals in one game, but it is still a work in progress. We have seen our lapses, and trust us, we will go back and work on them,” he said.
