Kennedy Boboye of Sunshine Stars has reassured fans of the club that the MatchDay 22 NPFL victory over Lobi Stars will mark the beginning of a turnaround at the club.
Boboye, who led the Owena Whales for the third time since he took over from Edith Agoye, suffered a humiliating defeat against Kano Pillars in his last outing but did find a way to beat Lobi Stars 2-0 in Akure.
Sharing his thoughts after the win over the table-toppers, Boboye commended his players for the victory, saying that they will keep fighting to move up the ladder on the NPFL log.
According to him, "I give kudos to the players. It wasn't easy coming back from Kano with a heavy defeat, the momentum was down with the players.
"We talked to them, psyched them up. This is the beginning of the turnaround. We just need to concentrate and keep fighting to make sure we get out from where we are.
"We made the changes because we found out that some of the players are getting weak and tired legs.
"We needed some fresh legs to come and help us because we played against an experienced side that is topping the league. So, we don't need to take anything for granted.
"We will keep pushing to make sure we win games because we need to win games to get out of the position we are.
"This one is done and dusted. Our next target is against Heartland because we need to get there and get something."
