The Kano State government has announced the constitution of a new management team for the state-owned Sai Masu Gida after sacking the entire board of the team the week before last.
The dismissal of the interim management of Kano Pillars came on the second day after they announced the appointment of former Sporting Lagos FC coach Paul Offor as the new coach of the team, taking over from interim coach Yaro Yaro.
The state commissioner for Youth and Sports, Mustapha Rabiu Kwankwaso, explained the reason for the exit of the interim board and management, stating that their tenure had expired.
Kwankwaso directed the management to proceed with the immediate handover of the affairs of the club to the most senior civil servant attached to the team.
He also thanked the board members for their service to the club, the people of Kano, and the extended football family.
The sacked management team, led by Alhaji Babangida Umar Little, had announced the appointment of Paul Offor two days ago as the new technical adviser of Kano Pillars ahead of the new season.
Offor could be left in limbo if the incoming management decides to differ from the decisions of the sacked board.
However, the emerging team has their work cut out for them as they aim to turn around the fortunes of Pillars in the 2024-25 NPFL season, scheduled to commence on August 31.
