The Chairman of the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL), Hon. Gbenga Elegbeleye, promised on Saturday that the 20 NPFL clubs participating in the topmost league would receive their royalties from the broadcast deal by the latest December.
Elegbeleye made this announcement during an online weekly interview on Saturday.
He stated that the league body was set to hold a meeting with club chairmen in Abuja next week, and from there, they would decide on the sharing formula for the percentage meant for the participating clubs.
The former Director-General of the National Sports Commission emphasized transparency and security in the administration of the apex league to attract more sponsors.
The Ondo-born football administrator then clarified that the club chairmen have a percentage of the sponsorship deal, and they will be the ones to decide on the sharing formula at their next meeting in Abuja next week.
"We are having a meeting next week with all the club chairmen in Abuja, and from there, everybody will know what is due to them, as we have a percentage agreement on what goes to the club on a percentage basis, and this will be discussed at the meeting next week.
"My words of assurance are that everybody will get their share a day or two after the meeting next week," he said.
