Sporting Lagos FC Coach Paul Offor has claimed a newly rejuvenated side when the team travels to Kaduna to face Niger Tornadoes for the 2023/2024 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) Match Day 25.
Knowing the task and expectations ahead of the team, Offor said that the second stanza of the 2023/2024 season would see a much-improved side, especially as they were able to dispatch league title-chasing Remo Stars 4-1 in Lagos, marking a record win over their fierce southwest derby rival.
The Match Day 24 debacle was the highest Remo Stars have ever suffered against any Southwest team in three years.
However, Offor said that the team would aim at sustaining the tempo and grinding out a win in faraway Kaduna.
For Niger Tornadoes, they have been in the eye of the storm with unpleasant results so far this season.
The Ikon Allah Boys have only managed a paltry 7 wins and 10 defeats in the current season and sit just one point above the relegation zone in the 16th position.
Nonetheless, Niger Tornadoes were lucky in the Match Day 24 fixtures as they ran away with a lone goal victory over fumbling Bayelsa United FC in Yenagoa.
Head to head:
Currently, Niger Tornadoes are at the 16th position on the leaderboard, and Sporting Lagos FC is at the 12th position. The teams have played 1 game against each other. Of these, Niger Tornadoes won 0, and Sporting Lagos FC won 1, with a total of 0 draw games.
