Sporting Lagos compounds Akwa United FC's woes after a barren draw

Matching their actions with words, league debutant, Sporting Lagos FC once again has sprang one of the rarest suprises at the feared Godswill Akpabio Stadium, Uyo forcing home team, Akwa United FC to a goaless draw.

Earlier, the Chairman of Sporting Lagos FC, Godwin Enakhena has boasted of his chance winning the elite league even as a debutant.

However with the display of Sporting Lagos FC in Uyo, it is evident that the club means business as they now top the league standings with four points having dispatched Gombe United FC 2-0 in the opening match.

Aside of the four point garnered so far in two matches, Sporting Lagos FC have yet to concede a goal in the last two games.

With the favourable display Sporting Lagos FC have secured top spot on the table after holding former champions Akwa United to a 0-0 draw at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo.

Sporting Lagos FC will now return to Lagos for the mid-week NPFL Match Day 3 to welcome another team from Gombe State, Doma United FC, while Akwa United have a difficult fixtures against wounded Enyimba International FC.
