Should England bypass Nigeria to sign Eberechi Eze of Crystal Palace?

Eberechi Eze had a successful week as he helped Crystal Palace alleviate their relegation concerns as their comeback under Roy Hodgson continued. The former England manager has asked Gareth Southgate, the current manager of the Three Lions, to keep a watch on Selhurst Park.
With seven games remaining, teams are starting to move away from the bottom three. Palace, in particular, has widened the gap between itself and the bottom three as a result of an incredible turnaround in fortunes recently.
After succeeding Patrick Vieira, returning veteran manager Hodgson has received much of the praise, but the African stars of the Eagles have also contributed to the team's rise to mid-table.
After succeeding Patrick Vieira, the Eagles' African players have contributed to the team's rise to mid-table, albeit returning veteran manager Hodgson has received the majority of the praise.
Last Saturday at Leeds, Michael Olise, who, like Eze, is qualified for both Nigeria and England, shone with a hat-trick of assists, while Jeffrey Schlupp continued to make significant contributions. Jordan Ayew of Ghana scored a rare double.
Eze's chance came this past weekend when he scored both goals as bottom-club Palace upset Southampton. The 24-year-old, who has been under intense pressure to choose between England and Nigeria, continued his impressive recent success.
Despite the fact that Eze's impressive performance should have Super Eagles supporters excited, Hodgson thinks England should take into account the former England junior international, who has yet to win a senior cap for any nation.
"The people watching for Gareth Southgate at the moment will be making their assessments and they don't need any help or advice from me on that subject.
"But if you're talking about a player's ambition, young as he is, a massive possibility to keep improving and keep doing well with every Premier League game he plays.
"I think if I was him I would be saying, 'I'm so good I'm going to make that my ambition', but the only way he'll do that is by producing more and more of these performances and hoping that Steve Holland and Gareth Southgate watch him and come to the same conclusion: That this is a player that can help us out," the manager said.
