The acting General Manager of Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) of Ibadan, Dimeji Lawal, believes that Saturday's loss to Bendel Insurance should motivate the team to perform better in upcoming matches.
The Ibadan soccer team had control of the Matchday 2 clash for most of the encounter but was unable to score despite their efforts.
Addressing the players, Kabongo, as the former international is popularly known, praised the players for their warrior-like effort during the match.
"Guys, I want to appreciate you for putting up a good performance yesterday (Saturday). You represented us very well, and I must commend you, despite the loss.
"The game is in the past, and our focus should be on the next game against Gombe United, which is a must-win.
"Like the coach said, all the mistakes noted in the encounter will be corrected before the next match, so let's hold our heads up and not be discouraged by the result of this match," added the General Manager, who also serves as the club's team manager.
Meanwhile, the former Super Eagles winger expressed the team's solid support for right-back Gali Falke, who has faced criticism from some quarters after accidentally scoring an own goal.
"You have been a very committed and disciplined player, very trustworthy. Don't be deterred by whatever anybody says. For us as a team, we stand behind you," the former Golden Eaglets and Flying Eagles player told the right-back.
