Bournemouth forward Antoine Semenyo salvaged a point for his team with a late equalizer, resulting in a 1-1 draw against Nottingham Forest in the Premier League on Saturday. The game saw Forest initially take the lead in the 23rd minute when Ryan Yates' close-range shot was parried by Bournemouth goalkeeper Neto, allowing Chris Wood to react quickly and slot the ball into the net.
Despite looking comfortable for much of the match, Forest's hopes of securing all three points were dashed in the 86th minute when Semenyo found the back of the net with a powerful close-range strike. Bournemouth had earlier thought they had equalized in the first half through Dango Ouattara, but the goal was disallowed after the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) ruled that Lewis Cook was offside in the buildup.
Throughout the match, Forest created several opportunities to extend their lead but struggled with finishing in the final third. Morgan Gibbs-White, who was particularly lively, nearly put Forest ahead in the final moments with a right-footed shot. Bournemouth, missing last season's top scorer Dominic Solanke after his recent transfer to Tottenham Hotspur, rarely troubled Forest goalkeeper Matz Sels.
The match also saw a concerning moment for Forest as Brazilian midfielder Danilo was carried off on a stretcher just 10 minutes into the game following a collision with Semenyo, leaving the home side with concerns over his fitness for the upcoming fixtures.
