Saudi Pro League closes transfer window; Liverpool rejects Salah offer

The Saudi Pro League has officially announced the closing date for its transfer window, which is set for September 7. This development comes as Liverpool appears determined to fend off any further offers for Mohamed Salah.
Reports revealed that Liverpool had turned down a substantial offer, potentially reaching £150 million ($190 million), from Al Ittihad for the Egyptian international.
On Friday morning, the Saudi Arabian club made their bid, initially offering £100 million for Salah, with additional incentives that could have brought the total to £150 million for Liverpool.
However, sources have confirmed that Liverpool has rejected this offer, firmly stating that "the player is not for sale," according to a Liverpool source.
A statement released by the Saudi Arabia Football Association on Monday specified, "As communicated to clubs Saudi Arabia on Friday June 30, the summer registration for player transfers for the Roshn Saudi League [Saudi Pro League] closes on Thursday Sept. 7."
Mohamed Salah demonstrated his commitment to Liverpool by scoring in their 3-0 victory over Aston Villa on Sunday. Jurgen Klopp, Liverpool's manager, expressed his confidence in Salah's dedication to the club, emphasizing that recent meetings with the player focused on the future and not any potential departure.
Klopp stated, "Mo was with the players' [leadership] committee and had his moments where he was talking, and it was nothing like 'by the way, this is only until next week' or whatever."
It's worth noting that several of Salah's former teammates, including Jordan Henderson, Sadio Mané, Fabinho, and Roberto Firmino, have completed moves to Saudi clubs this summer.
