Saudi clubs join Watford, Sheffield Wednesday in pursuit of Dennis

Posted : 28 January 2025

Emmanuel Dennis' future at Nottingham Forest remains uncertain as the summer transfer window approaches its close. Despite the impending deadline, there has been no resolution regarding the striker's situation, leaving him on the sidelines.

Under the management of Nuno Espírito Santo, Dennis has been excluded from first-team activities. He has not been registered for the Premier League and has not been selected for any Cup matches this season, signaling that his time at the club may be coming to an end.

Championship clubs, such as Sheffield Wednesday and Watford, have shown interest in Dennis' situation and are monitoring developments closely. However, a significant obstacle to a potential move could be Dennis' substantial salary, reportedly around four million pounds per year at Forest.

Reports from The Star also suggest that foreign clubs, including those in Saudi Arabia, have expressed interest in signing Dennis. With their significant financial resources, Saudi Arabian clubs may not be deterred by the striker's wage demands.

Sheffield Wednesday has reportedly engaged in preliminary discussions about Dennis but has yet to make an official offer. The club is taking a cautious approach, weighing its options before committing to a transfer.

Dennis, who had two stints at Watford, has been a productive player during his time in England, contributing 20 goal involvements across 55 appearances in all competitions. His experience and versatility make him an attractive prospect for potential suitors.

The 27-year-old's contract with Nottingham Forest runs until June 30, 2026. Last season, he spent time on loan at both Basaksehir FK and Watford, but he has not featured for Forest since the final matchday of the 2022-2023 season. With a strong forward lineup at Forest, Dennis' future at the club appears increasingly unlikely.
