Sani Abacha Stadium set for NPFL matches return, says management

After undergoing extensive repairs and reconstruction, the iconic Sani Abacha Stadium is now set to host Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) matches once again, serving as the home ground for three-time league champions, Kano Pillars FC.


It should be noted that Sai Masu Gida temporarily relocated to the Muhammadu Dikko Stadium in Katsina for their home games while renovation work at the Sani Abacha Stadium was ongoing. During this period, they played several home matches away from their original venue.


Now, the stadium management has announced that the gates are expected to open for Kano Pillars' return to the Sani Abacha Stadium.


With this development, Sai Masu Gida has been cleared to return home for their league fixtures.


The Sani Abacha Stadium has historically been a fortress for the Sai Masu Gida team, and their strong home record played a crucial role in their league triumph a few seasons ago.


Despite playing away from home this season, Pillars have remained one of the strongest teams.
