Arsenal started the new Premier League season impressively, showcasing their strength by thoroughly outplaying Wolves and then delivering a resilient performance against Aston Villa. This latter game allowed them to avenge last season’s setbacks against Unai Emery.
However, their latest match against Brighton didn’t unfold as anticipated. Despite dominating the first half and holding a 1-0 lead, Arsenal’s fortunes shifted dramatically following a red card issued to Declan Rice. This decision gave Brighton a numerical advantage, which they exploited effectively.
In August, as is customary, the Premier League announced its nominees for the Player of the Month award. This recognition highlights exceptional performers of the month and allows fans to vote for their favorites.
Among the nominees for the Premier League Player of the Month are Erling Haaland, Amadou Onana, Bryan Mbeumo, Cole Palmer, Mohamed Salah, former Arsenal player Danny Welbeck, and Arsenal’s own David Raya and Bukayo Saka.
Given the stellar performances in August, Erling Haaland stands out as the likely winner, having scored an impressive seven goals in just three games, including consecutive hat-tricks.
Nonetheless, it’s noteworthy that out of the Premier League’s 500 registered players, Arsenal has two standout performers on this prestigious list.
This recognition reflects well on Arsenal's strong start to the season and highlights the exceptional contributions of David Raya and Bukayo Saka.
