Nigeria’s music superstar, Michael Olayinka, known professionally as Ruger, delivered masterful performances of his evergreen songs on Saturday to entertain the thousands of fans gathered at the 2024 Goal Fest.

The 2024 Goal Fest, a UEFA Champions League free viewing center, was held at Balmoral Event Centre and was well attended by fans who trooped out to watch the exciting final between Real Madrid and German club Borussia Dortmund.

The thousands of fans had exciting moments watching the 2024 Champions League on the giant screens provided by the organizers of the 2024 Goal Fest.

The fans were also treated to exciting side attractions such as free games, free food and drinks, and many other prizes won during the raffle draws.

The attendees of the exciting UEFA Champions League free viewing center were later treated to the classical performance of Ruger, whom the fans patiently waited for after the final whistle.

Interestingly, many fans were unwilling to leave the venue at Balmoral Centre despite the late hour. Ruger performed for about an hour after the game.

Some football fans who spoke with ASN commended the organizers for providing such an entertaining moment to wrap up the European football season.

Olamide Durosanmi, a 27-year-old apprentice from Ikorodu, shared his experience, which he simply said was spectacular.

“I had a spectacular night today. Not only did my team win, but it was spiced up with Ruger’s performances.

“I came all the way from Ikorodu to watch this game, and I am glad I did because it was worth it.

“I was even able to make business connections because I am an upholsterer,” he said.

Janet Antony also told ASN that she deliberately came to watch the UEFA Champions League because of Ruger.

“It was mainly because of Ruger that I came to watch the match because I heard the radio jingle that he would be performing.

“The organizers have been able to draw many people here because of the attraction of the music star, and I think that is commendable.

“The most exciting part is that this is a free event which is worth thousands of naira,” she said.

Another female football fan, Arike Gbadebo, said that the event was one of her best moments so far.

“I think this event has been able to ease my stress and is one of the best moments I have enjoyed this year.

“It cannot be better than this, having thousands of youths under one roof to enjoy the 2024 UEFA Champions League final and having Ruger to crown it all for us,” she said.

NAN reports that Real Madrid won the UEFA Champions League for the 15th time courtesy of goals from Dani Carvajal and Vinicius Junior.

During his performance, Ruger dished out his old and latest albums, such as Asiwaju, Girlfriend, Bounce, and Snapchat, among others.
