FC Robo Queens defender, Shukurat Oladipo's call-up to the senior national women’s team (Super Falcons) for the Paris 2024 Olympics qualifier double-header against South Africa has sparked excitement within her team.
The FC Robo Queens defender showcased outstanding performance for the Nigeria U-20 Women’s side (Falconets) during the Women's football events at the recently concluded 13th African Games in Ghana, despite the Falconets losing 2-1 to Ghana's Black Princesses in extra time.
She has been a standout player for the female U-20 national team, particularly impressing in the U-20 FIFA Women’s World Cup qualifier against Tanzania last November.
Her remarkable performance under Christopher Danjuma's leadership earned her a spot in the Super Falcons squad to face South Africa's Bayana Bayana.
Shukurat Oladipo is known for her strength, hard work, agility, awareness, and defensive prowess, making her an invaluable asset in the team's backline.
Her exceptional leadership qualities, versatility, and energetic playing style set her apart from other players in the team.
She is renowned for her sharpness and ability to thwart opposition attacks by marshalling and defending against scoring opportunities.
Shukurat Oladipo is a familiar name at FC Robo Queens and among followers of the Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL).
Another NWFL talent included in the squad is Bayelsa Queens goalkeeper Linda Jiwuaku.
The Super Falcons will host the first leg at the Moshood Abiola Stadium (MKO Abuja) on Friday, 5th April, before traveling to Pretoria for the return leg at Loftus Versfield Stadium on Tuesday, 9th April.
