Rivers Utd will take CAF Confederation Cup seriously, says Coach Eguma

The Head Coach of Rivers United FC, Nigeria's representatives to the CAF Confederation Cup, Stanley Eguma on Wednesday said that the club was well ahead of the task as they prepare to face Etoile Filante of Burkina Faso in the next round.

Africa Sport Network (ASN) reports that Rivers United FC still remaining in the competition has qualified for the second round of the preliminary round of the CAF Confederation Cup.

Rivers United FC made it to the quarter-final of the competition last season before losing out to Young Boys of Tanzania.

The Pride of Rivers are now drawn in battle against Etoile Filante of Burkina Faso that defeated Casa Sports of Senegal in the first preliminary round while Rivers United was drawn bye.

Eguma believed the team could cross the hurdle.

"Our opponent ( Etoile Filante ) participated in the first round and they have match fitness and have also tasted the competition's toughness

``But it will not deter us because we know what it takes to compete and we are walking towards, I believe that at the end of the day will give a good account of ourselves", he said.
