Rivers Utd seals Super 6 in style with victory over Doma Utd FC

It was an exciting day for rejuvenated Rivers United FC of Port Harcourt as they earned a well-deserved 2-0 win over high flying Doma United FC in the rescheduled Match Day 16 of 2022/2023 Nigeria Professional Football League.

The defending champions had to put the painful quarter-final ouster from the CAF Confederation Cup Ioss behind them to deservedly fight for a five matches unbeaten run to stay safe on the summit of Group B of the abridged league.

The Stanley-Eguma team quickly wrapped up their game in the first half against Premier league debutant Doma United that have been impressive so far with a quick 2-0 lead in a match played at Adokiye Aniesimaka stadium in Port Harcourt on Thursday night.

Rivers United's duo of Nyima Nwagua and Albert Korvah on the road put up a brilliant first-half performance from the Pride of Rivers to seal the club's qualification for Super 6.

Rivers United FC have now opened up a three point lead on the summit of the Group B standing with 33 points.

Coach Eguma of the Pride of Rivers praised his team's performance adding that they got the tactics right.
