Rivers Utd FC gets a wrong footing as first league match ended in defeat

Nigeria's only representative in the CAF Confederation Cup, Rivers United FC were dropped by a lone goal in a less fancied game against Niger Tornadoes of the Match Day 2 of Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) in Kaduna.
Bashir Usman netted the decisive goal from the penalty spot in the 7th minute.
The match against Niger Tornadoes was Rivers United FC's first league match as they were excused from the Match Day 1 due continental assignment.
Rivers pile more pressure on Deputy Echeta's effort gets on target in the 60th minutes only for Joshua Enaholo punch to safety.
Echeta was a torn in the flesh of Tornadoes defence most times and atb the 64th minutes, he frees Nyima Nwagua who turns to shoot but it was blcoked by the defenders.
The game ended in the favour of Niger Tornadoes who have a date against Enugu Rangers Int'l FC.
